A useful fit for

A plausible comparison for someone who prefers the white finish and wants a slim 26 mm plate, automatic Heat-Adapt operation, corded use, an 8.8-foot swivel cable and stated universal-voltage support, without assuming a manually chosen temperature.

The main tradeoff

No numeric heat target or user-selectable setting is documented on the US page; automatic adaptation is not classified as a single fixed preset or user-adjustable heat. The US safety-guide library did not list a Sculpt manual when checked.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Is the white Sculpt functionally different from black SKU 777?

The US pages list separate white and black SKU routes, and their published operating features are the same: 26 mm family plates, Heat-Adapt, a 20-second ready claim, 8.8-foot cord, universal voltage and two-year warranty. I found no documented operating difference; choose by exact finish and verify the seller's white SKU 778 identity.

Does the white Sculpt let me choose a lower temperature?

The product page describes automatic Heat-Adapt changes in response to hair load, styling angle and speed, but it does not document a user-selected temperature or a numeric setpoint. If a manual temperature range is essential, do not count this as documented adjustable heat; if you accept a single fixed preset, this page also does not establish that condition.

Does the white finish change its travel requirements?

No finish-specific electrical difference is documented. ghd states universal voltage and an 8.8-foot swivel cord for SKU 778, and its FAQ still calls for the appropriate travel plug adapter. Confirm the white SKU and appliance label, destination plug shape and package contents before travel.

The white SKU 778 is a separate retail configuration

This review is for the white ghd Sculpt Interactive Hair Straightener sold under US SKU 778. The product page labels the finish white, and the official image shows the white and silver tool rather than its black counterpart. Its operating profile is otherwise the same as the black SKU 777 in the manufacturer pages checked here: Heat-Adapt technology, a 20-second ready claim, 8.8-foot swivel cable, universal-voltage support, ten-minute sleep feature and two-year warranty. I found no documented functional difference between the two colors; the separate SKU and exact edition still matter when checking a listing.

ghd's same-product page for p-778 calls the plates 26 mm, while the US page does not state the measurement in its visible text. This is recorded as a product-family bridge and converted to about 1.02 inches—not a physical measurement. That makes this tool just over a 1.00-inch ceiling, but within 1.05 inches. Its very slim infinity plate, waterfall edge and close-to-root positioning are the relevant geometry; the published number cannot tell you whether a section will feel comfortable in your hand or predict time saved.

The adaptive system creates a different heat question

ghd describes Sculpt's Heat-Adapt system as sensing the amount of hair between the plates, the movement speed and the styling angle, then responding to hair temperature. The white page says it is not simply responding to plate temperature. That makes the tool's heat story different from a conventional product page that lists one 365°F target. It also does not establish that you can choose a lower temperature yourself.

Because the US page gives no numerical target and does not document a manual control, this assessment does not classify SKU 778 as either a single-preset tool or a user-adjustable one. That restraint matters if you use the questionnaire: automatic adjustment by the appliance is not the same thing as adjustment by the person using it. If manual heat selection is a hard requirement, this page does not prove the feature. If you want a stated fixed temperature, it does not prove that condition either. A marketing description of adaptive or personalized heat is not a substitute for exact controls and instructions.

Deciding whether the white finish and size suit your routine

The white edition may be the version you want for its appearance, but finish alone should not decide whether its plate width and cord fit your setup. The 26 mm specification belongs near the one-inch class, not the two-inch wide-plate class. Someone comparing larger sections may prefer to examine a Max; someone requiring no more than one inch should check the documented number rather than the product's slim visual profile. Neither width nor the brand's “faster” claims establish your own pass count or styling result.

The cable remains a requirement to plan around: ghd specifies 8.8 feet and universal voltage, but still tells travelers to use the appropriate plug adapter. Check the exact appliance label and local outlet conditions. Do not infer an included travel plug, heat mat or case from the white product photo. The US page lists the two-year warranty, but actual coverage depends on the precise purchase and the maker's terms.

Use limits and the public evidence gap

The ghd US flat-iron category says standard straighteners are for dry hair; the brand treats the Duet Style as a wet-to-dry exception. Sculpt is presented as a flat iron and straightener, but its US safety-guide page did not list an individual Sculpt manual on the check date. The product page's ten-minute sleep feature is not an operating guide. Find the instructions supplied with SKU 778 and follow those instructions, especially for cooling, storage and electrical safety; do not borrow a manual from a similar-looking tool.

The claims about shine, frizz reduction, faster styling and avoiding heat damage remain ghd's own statements, with test contexts described by the manufacturer. We did not reproduce or independently verify those tests. No hair-type outcome, temperature behavior, speed, durability, comfort or damage result was measured here. The practical assessment is that the white SKU provides a documented corded 26 mm format with a novel automatic heat system and travel-voltage claim, but no documented user temperature choice.

Verify the exact white item before choosing

Match the name ghd Sculpt, the white finish and SKU 778; a black SKU 777 listing is not the same retail identity even though ghd publishes the same feature set. Verify the seller's exact model and warranty terms, and check the delivered plug and instructions. The official first-gallery image is the white edition and supports its appearance only. If a black finish suits you instead, compare the black SKU 777 assessment; the currently documented fit and controls are materially the same. Use the finder as a way to inspect documented requirements, not as an assurance of personal compatibility.
