A useful fit for

A concrete option when two one-inch irons with different formats are wanted: a full-size BNT4072TUC with 50 heat settings and a compact BNTC4072T with three settings, dual voltage and a stated six-foot lead.

The main tradeoff

Both tools are one inch wide, but their plate length, heat controls, cord documentation, warranty and intended format differ. The full-size manual does not list its cord length; the compact model's six-foot cable should not be assigned to it. The kit may be redundant if only one iron is wanted.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Are the two BNTPP84 straighteners the same iron in different packaging?

No. The package page lists a full-size BNT4072TUC and a compact BNTC4072T. The full-size manual describes 1-inch plates and a 50-setting dial; the compact page lists three settings (320°F, 360°F and 400°F), automatic dual voltage, a six-foot cord and a storage lock. They are separate tools with different control details.

Can the BNTPP84 pair meet a six-foot cable requirement?

The compact BNTC4072T page explicitly lists a six-foot swivel cord. The family instructions for the full-size BNT4072TUC do not provide a numerical lead length, so that second tool cannot be counted for a cable minimum just because the package includes the compact iron.

Is dual voltage documented for both irons in BNTPP84?

The exact BNTC4072T page says automatic 120/240 V dual voltage, and the BNT4072TUC family manual states that the full-size iron is dual voltage and automatically adjusts. Voltage does not establish plug-shape compatibility or an included adapter; the manual says a suitable adapter plug may be needed and is not included.

BNTPP84 is not one flat iron that changes size. The official US prepack contains two one-inch tools: a full-size Ultra-Thin BNT4072TUC and a compact Ultra-Thin BNTC4072T. Their nominal plate widths are the same, but the full-size tool is described with a 50-setting temperature dial while the compact version lists three LED settings. Their cable documentation also differs. Treat each as its own operating plan rather than borrowing the compact iron's six-foot cord or heat options for the full-size model.

Two one-inch tools, different controls

The full-size BNT4072TUC is listed in the package page as a one-inch iron with five-inch extended plates and 50 heat settings up to 450°F. The official family manual names BNT4072TUC as the one-inch version and describes the 50-position control with broad temperature bands from 240°F through 450°F. Those bands are the manufacturer's guide, not a laboratory calibration or a recommendation for a particular person's hair. The family manual also directs users to work on dry hair and says not to use an extension cord.

The compact BNTC4072T is also one inch wide, but its exact product page specifies three selectable temperatures: 320°F, 360°F and 400°F. It lists automatic 120/240 V dual voltage, a six-foot swivel cord, a storage lock and an automatic shutoff after 60 minutes of nonuse. The compact is therefore not just a travel case for the full-size iron; its stated heat range and cable are its own details. The page labels the three values as settings, not independently measured surface temperatures.

The set gives a buyer two 1-inch formats, but both share the same nominal width. If your main requirement is a narrower plate, a different-width package may be more relevant. A five-inch plate length on the full-size iron is a length dimension, not a five-inch plate width, and neither dimension establishes speed, section size, comfort or a particular result.

Voltage and cable length must stay attached to the exact tool

BaBylissPRO's manual for the BNT4072TUC family says the full-size straightener is dual voltage and adjusts automatically; it also says a suitable adapter plug may be needed and is not included. The compact BNTC4072T page separately lists automatic 120/240 V support. This makes the package a documented option for a corded dual-voltage requirement, but voltage is not the same as plug compatibility, and no adapter should be assumed to be in the box.

Only the compact component has a numerical cord length in the sources reviewed here: six feet. The BNT4072TUC family manual does not state a cable length. The bundle should not be represented as having a six-foot full-size cord. If a minimum-reach filter is essential, the BNTC4072T can satisfy a six-foot threshold, while the second iron remains unknown. Neither cord length describes a safe-use radius or excuses a stretched lead.

When a two-iron package makes sense

This set is most specific for someone who actually wants a full-size iron with many documented setting positions and a compact backup or travel-format iron with three known settings. The two tools are independently listed as 1-inch, corded and dual-voltage, so either can satisfy those broad requirements; the exact heat-control and cable benefits vary by component. If only one flat iron is needed, compare a standalone version instead of assuming the kit's second tool is a free extra. BNTPP79 shares the BNTC4072T compact iron but pairs it with a dryer, while BNTPP84 pairs that compact iron with another straightener.

The package page lists a four-year limited warranty for the full-size BNT4072TUC and a one-year limited warranty for the compact BNTC4072T. The family manual's front matter says professional use only, while its warranty terms set consumer-purchase conditions; a salon or commercial buyer should verify coverage directly for the exact package rather than infer that professional labeling settles warranty eligibility. Warranty terms are not evidence of tested service life.

Limits and purchase checks

The manufacturer's language about fast heating, smoothness and styling performance is not an independent test. We did not measure the tools, evaluate styling on a person, or compare durability or heat recovery. Before buying, confirm BNTPP84, the two included codes, the full-size five-inch plate-length description, the distinct temperature-control formats, the adapter requirement and the exact seller's package and return terms. For cable reach, rely on the six-foot BNTC4072T listing only; keep the BNT4072TUC lead marked unknown until a source provides its length.
